TOPS1ONE became interested in music at a young age, and jumped into the local music scene in Pomona and Ontario, California. The graffiti world introduced him to Hip-Hop and the wanton lifestyle of a youngster in Southern California. He had always thought of himself as a poet, even before he'd read a single verse of poetry. He wrote poetry in highschool, and, later in his life, he began writing rap lyrics to YouTube beats his homies would find or he would find on his own. Tired of relying on YouTube, local producers, and his friends' dreams, he purchased FL Studio for $100, an intro-level midi controller, and began producing his own beats. The first hand musical knowledge gained from playing the guitar early in his life, attending band practices and watching live performances in downtown Pomona is combined with the half-decade of experience working in a DAW. TOPS1ONE lives by the motto "Learn by Doing." These hands-on experiences helped polish TOPS1ONE into the producer he is today. TOPS1ONE has recently graduated with a degree in English Literature, and mixes literary/poetic techniques into the verses he writes over the beats he composes. TOPS1ONE is working on his first solo album "Four Door Bucket Music" produced and written by him.
