I'm sitting at a Starbucks in downtown Dallas right now. The valet across the street keeps giving me dirty looks, and I don't know why. Maybe it's because of my Crocs, or maybe it's because I keep looking over there. I just got done walking around the Dallas Museum of art right here downtown. I enjoy visiting art museums to look at art. I used to visit them all of the time in California. I enjoy history and seeing old things. The museum had different sections for different periods of art history. They had a section of old Roman art and artifacts, which was definitely my favorite. They had a golden proferred laurel in a glass case on the wall which was super cool, vases, a few Roman busts, a huge sculpted piece depicting a battle, and lots of artifacts like vases, jewelry, crowns, etc. One of the busts of a nude man was missing the penis. I read that a lot of the older Roman statues in Italy depicting nudity would be vandalized by religious zealots. Religion is responsible for a lot of destruction to humanity and culture throughout the history of the world. It's a trip. There were a lot of paintings. One painting that stood out to me was a painting of a fisherman with a huge fish that he caught. The painting was done well, and something about the ocean is intriguing to me. I can't wait to go to the beach. I've never been to the Atlantic ocean before. I've been thinking about going to South Carolina. Someone told me that Myrtle Beach is a nice place to go and visit, so, I'll probably check it out. There was a painting of a stout Asian woman in a bathing suit who reminded me of the lady I met at the Irish pub yesterday. The painting was in a cartoon style, and the perspective was off. It was an interesting piece. I saw some intricate, complicated paintings towards the end of my visit that stood out to me. I'm going to ride the tram that they have downtown after I grab something to eat. I'm on a budget, so, I don't want to spend too much money here. I saw this bar with tons of bicycles parked in front of it right next to the museum, so, I'll probably go there and get a beer and something to eat.
